Embarrassed

… that’s what I was tonight.

We got a new Laptop, and Thomas has set up a User for each of us.

Josh was the first one to see that and he complained straight away, he wanted another Profile picture. AND, he can change that himself!

He did!!!

Our eight and a half year old showed us, how to do that.

As if that wasn’t embarrassing enough, after Dinner, Timon had a look at the new PC and wanted to change his picture as well. So Thomas satrted to do that, when Timon told him, he could do that himself.

And he did! He is six and a half…..

Let’s talk technology! When I was six, I didn’t even know what a Computer is!!!!

Yamaha Festival 2009

Zuerst ein kleines update, was hier so los war!

Letztes Wochenende hatte ich auf ein ruhiges Gammelwochenende gehofft, aber wie so oft kommt es ja dann anders.

Samstag, nach Soccer, Soccer und Netball waren wir, wie immer zum ‘After Soccer-Netball Maccas Coffee’! Dort hat dann unter vier Familien ein fleissiges Kindertauschen stattgefunden. Am fruehen Nachmittag haben wir uns dann auf dem Weg gemacht, die Kinder wieder zurueckzutauschen. Dabei sind wir dann bei Rachel haengengeblieben und haben uns auch nur getrennt, um uns eine Stunde spaeter zum Pizzaessen bei uns wieder zu treffen. Nach dem Pizzadinner ist Merle dann mit zu Alyssa gefahren, zum Sleepover.

Am naechsten Tag, ist Merle dann dort von Jenny abgeholt worden und Godfreys sind dann zu uns gekommen und wir haben einen sehr, sehr witzigen Nachmittag verbracht.

Die Kids haben eine sehr interessante Fashionshow gemacht. Kunterbunt, Winter, Sommer, PJ Winter, PJ Sommer, etc. Sehr, sehr witzig.

Ich bin mir sicher, sie werden es an ihrem 21. Geburtstag bitter bereuen!!!

Samstag morgen war dann, wie immer Soccer und Netball.

Timon hatte sein Spiel noch im strahlenden Sonnenschein, Merles Spiel wurde in der Halbzeit abgebrochen, aufgrund starken Regens und Josh hat in stroemendem Regen Soccer gespielt… sie hatten Spass ohne Ende!!!!

Die ganze Woche ueber hatte Josh dann Saxophon und Bandprobe, da an diesem Wochenende das Yamaha Band Festival stattfand.

Schulbands aus ganz Sydney kommen ueber zehn Tage zusammen und  spielen um die Wette! Universitaets Professoren und professionelle Musikfachmaenner und – frauen beurteilen das ganze dann.

Unsere CB3 Band hat, so haben wir heute erfahren, die Bronze Medallie gewonnen.

Ich versuche auch mal, die Aufnahme der drei Spiele mit hochzuladen. Mal sehen, ob es klappt!!!!

Geht leider nicht, da das Format nicht erkannt wird.

Ich arbeite aber weiter an einer Loesung, versprochen!!!!

Soccer update

…. nee, ganz anders als ihr denkt!

Wollte hier nur mal eben bekannt geben, das siech Australien im drittletzten Qualifikationsspiel mit einem Unentschieden fuer die Fussballweltmeisterschaft qualifiziert hat!

Yeah!!!!

Das ist fuer Australien die dritte WM Teilnahme nach 1974 und 2006! Und sie sind die erste Manschaft, die sich fuer die WM 2010 qualifiziert hat, da ja Suedafrika eh gesetzt ist, als Gastgeber!

So, Ihr lieben Freunde rund um den Erdenball, wie sieht es denn bei Euch so aus???

Ich warte auf Nachrichten mit aktuellen Qualifikationsstaenden

Ansonsten gibt es nur noch etwas nicht so erfreuliches zu berichten.

Heute bin ich mit Thomas’ Auto unterwegs gewesen, da er mein Auto braucht, um Freunde von uns vom Flughafen abzuholen.

Auf dem Weg zur Schule, um die Kids abzuholen, ist mir dann an der Ampel, oder besser, dem Auto hinter mir, jemand draufgefahren (kommt mir bekannt vor, gleiches Unfallschema hatte ich doch irgendwie schonmal vor etwa 15 Jahren…)!

Da war doch die Freude ueber das heute angekommene Paket vom Amazon gleich wieder dahin… So gefreut hatte ich mich… lauter Klassiker, von Heinz Erhardt fuer Erwachsene und Kinder ueber ‘Pan Tau’ zu ‘Luzie, der Schrecken der Strasse’!!

It’s about time!

I am really sorry for letting the dust settle on the Blog, but somehow my fingers just didn’t get around to type something creative in the keyboard!

I’ll try very hard now though! ANd even if it’s not gonna be creative, at least it’ll give you an update of what we’ve been up to!

Since the last post we had a couple of Birthdays which we partly celebrated with a get together of a couple of families.

We had a great Dinner at ours. Us adults had several dishes, everyone just brought something and the Kids had a Picknick in our Livingroom.  After we had put the Kids to bed, we had a little chitchat till the early morning hours and I just hope everybody else had as much of a hard time to get up the next morning as we had!

Merle is still playing Netball and is enjoying  every single second!

Josh and Timon are having a ball playing Soccer. Neither of them can’t stand it, when training or the game is cancelled as it is raining quite a bit the last weeks.

Josh got a certificate from his Saxophone teacher, saying that he’s doing very well and is far ahead of his peers! Great, I’m so proud of him!

Merle started to play the Flute two weeks ago as she now wants to join the Band as well. We’ll see how she goes with that!

Two weeks ago we had Tickets for a Wheelchair Basketball game! A Sydney Team vs. Wollongong Team. It was great, I just really like watching it.  A couple of those faces were even familiar as they played at the Paralympics in Bejing!

Last weekend we wnt Bowling with another family and apart from two chipped fingernails we had heaps of fun!

And: The News of the week: Neither of our Kids needs ESL anymore!

Which means their english is up to nativ level! I just think that’s absolute amazing!!!! In the End they just had ESL to catch up with some Oz Slang, but not really to learn english!

100 und Soccer, Soccer and Soccer

This is post number : 100 !!!!!

And it’s about Soccer !

As the lovely time off work has come to an end too soon, we thought, we better get the Kids entertained.

The boys’ Soccer Club had a Holiday Clinic on offer, so we enroled Josh and Timon for three days this week.

This special programm is run by the NSW Soccer association and usualy cooperates with on A League Team. In our case that Team is the Central Coast Mariners.

Today the A League Caoch came and told the Kids about Soccer and showed them little Tricks… and… he even gave Autoramms. Now Joshi’s T-shirt is signed and he’s very proud. Timon forgot to get his shirt out of the bag…. well, that’s Timon as we know him!

It starts at 8.30 and they play Soccer, learn skills and tricks all the way till 1pm!

I must say, they love every single second! Hardly ever do I get told so many informations about what they’ve done while I was at work in the first five minutes after picking them up!

And, the best for us parents… they are soooooo exhausted, they go to bed and are asleep before their head hits the pillow !!

Today that wasn’t enough Soccer though, as Timon had his regular training, which added another hour of Soccer to his day!

On Saturday joshi then has his first official game for the Saison, as the first round was washed out due to rain!

Can’t wait!!!

Tick, Tick, tickely Tick

Gestern waren wir mit Muellers am Bobbin Head, das schoene Wetter ausnutzen.

Eigentlich hatten sie Schauer vorhergesagt. Da es dann aber tatsaechlich richtig schoen war, sind wir dorthin.

Gewappnet mit festen Schuhen, Kaffee, Kuchen, Keksen, Obst und Picknickdecken!

Nach einer leckeren Staerkung sind die Kids dann auf Krabbenjagd gegangen, die es dort ja recht zahlreich gibt. Und auch in den leuchtensten Farben.

Dann sind wir durch die Mangroven  in den Bush gelaufen. Dort hat uns dann mal wieder fasziniert, wie die Temperatur absinkt, bei nur drei Treppen, die man tiefer geht, dabei aber vom Bush quasi in den Regenwald kommt!

Auf dem Rueckweg haben wir uns noch ueberlegt, zu grillen und so sind wir dann nach Hause, um uns aufs Abendbrot zu stuerzen.

Nachdem dann alle abgefuettert und gluecklich waren, haben wir uns auf einen Sofaabend gefreut.

Bei Muellers hat Hannah zum Glueck nach Mueckencreme gefragt, was dann dazu fuehrte, das Muellers bei den Kids Zecken (Ticks) entdeckt haben.

Da unsere drei schon im Bett waren haben wir das Suchen dann auf heute verschoben.

Thomas ist dann netterweise mit einer Lupe vorbei gekommen und so haben wir einige Zeit damit verbracht, alle drei nach Zecken abzusuchen und sind auch recht haeufig fuendig geworden.

Wir haben schon zu Josh gesagt, ob er denn immer uebertreiben muesse udn sich nicht einfach mal mit dem zufrieden geben koenne, was alle anderen so haben.

Eine oder gar keine Zecke hatte doch wohl gereicht…

This one time at Band Camp

Thanks, Jen and Karyn, even I now finally get it!

Let’s start at the beginning though!

On Friday I took the day off work to pick up Thomas from the Airport!
Initially I wanted to take the Kids as well, but as Thomas wasn’t due to be back before 8.10 it would have been just too late for them to start school.
And the Thomas’ flight was delayed by at least 35 minutes, so there really was no reason to take them.
At 8.49 the plane touched down in Sydney, Thomas was back!

I hope it was a nice surprise for him, to see me there!
I had to drop him off at work first though as his car was there!
He came home soon afterwards and we just had a lazy day till it was time to pick up the Kids from school.

And how excited they were to see Thomas there, Timon couldn’t stop kissing Thomas, Merle started to cry (she convinced us though that those were tears of joy) and Josh keept hugging Thomas!

After that we had just enough time to go home, unpack some presents brought over from Germany,

pack Josh’s bag and drop him off at Galston for his Band Camp.
The whole weekend was there to be filled with music, games, music, fun, music, music and music!
As Soccer had been cancelled due to the rain, he could stay there, Timon didn’t have to play neither and both, Thomas and me could go to see Merle playing her second Netball game.
This time she was playing Wing Attack and I was amazed how well she did!
They won 14:0!!!

Sunday afternoon was pick up and Concert time at Band Camp (this one time…;-)!!)

All three Bands, Concert Bands and String Ensemble performed and had a great time!

I took some videos as well, but haven’t figured out how to publish them. I’ll work on that one though, promise!

After we got home, the Kids just had a bath and off they went to bed.

Alles neu macht der Mai…

… aber so lange konnte ich nicht mehr warten, also haben wir letztes Wochenende beim IKEA schonmal gesucht und auch gefunden!

Merle hat sich ein neues Zimmer ausgesucht. Leider konnten wir es nicht mitnehmen, da Kids und Moebel dann nun doch nicht in mein Auto gepasst haetten…

Am Donnerstag hatte ich aber die Moeglichkeit, mir einen Transporter auszuleihen und so bin ich dann nach der Arbeit zum IKEA und habe wir wild eingekauft.

Gestern und heute habe ich dann geschraubt, was der Schraubendreher hergab und nun hat Merle eine neue Zimmereinrichtung.

Jetzt hoffen wir nur, das sie sich um ihr neues Zimmer genau so gut kuemmert, wie das letzte Jahr um ihr altes! Aber eigentlich mache ich mir da nicht so richitg wirklich Sorgen drum.

Und dann hat Merle heute zum ersten Mal Netball gespielt, der Nationalsport aller australischen Maedchen! Und wenn ich Nationalsport schreibe, dann meine ich es auch so. Da ist Fussball in Deutschland ein Sport der nur von wenigen betrieben wird.
Auf den Sportplaetzen gibt es 20 bis 30 Netballfelder, auf denen von morgens um 7am bis nachmittags um 5pm Netball gespielt wird. Ununterbrochen, jede Stunde ein neues Spiel..
Ich dachte immer, das sei so eine Form von Basketball, nur das man mit dem Ball in der Hand nur noch einen Schritt machen darf.
Aber es ist doch um einiges komplizierter.
Merle scheint aber alles schon recht gut verstanden zu haben, trotz erst zwei Wochen Training!
Ich muss sagen, ich war echt begeistert, wie klasse sie gespielt hat. Es fehlt ihr noch ein wenig der Biss, den Ball haben zu wollen und ihre Gegnerin nicht unbedingt als moegliche beste Freundin zu sehen.
Aber ich bin guter Dinge, das sie das ganz, ganz schnell lernen wird

Morgen hat dann Josh sein zweites Trial Game und Timon ist schon stinke sauer, das er ueberhaupt keines hat.
Aber naechstes Wochenende geht dann die Fussball Saison los und Thomas und ich muessen drei Kinder zu drei verschiedenen Zeiten zu drei verschiedenen Sportplaetzen bringen.
Ich weiss noch nicht so ganz genau, wie wir das machen, aber da wird uns schon was einfallen, ich bin da ganz optimistisch!

BlaBlaBlubb

So richtig weiss ich gar nicht, was ich schreiben soll, aber da ich mich schon so lange nicht mehr gemeldet habe…

Seid Anfang der Woche ist Thomas auf seiner Australien’rundreise’ gewesen und seid heute ist er auf dem Weg nach Deutschland, wo er dann Sonntag morgen ankommt!

Am Mittwoch bei den Scouts ist Joshua in die naechste Gruppe aufgestuft worden, wo er kommenden Montag offiziell aufgenommen wird und Timon hat am gleichen Tag seine Abzeichen und sein Scarf bekommen uns ist jetzt auch ganz offiziell ien Joey!

Gestern beim Indoor Soccer war es mal wieder so richtig gut und ich habe fast meine Stmme verloren, so musste ich anfeuern!
Klasse gekaempft haben die Jungs und nicht, wie sonst meisstens, die Hoffnung aufgegeben. Und es sollte belohnt werden. Schoen, so strahlende Augen zu sehen!

Heute war ich dann mit den Kids beim IKEA, wir haben dort fuer Merle nach einem neuen Zimmer gesucht. Nach einem, fuer richtig grosse Maedels!
Wir haben auch etwas gefunden, was ihr richtig gut gefaellt, aber das haetten wir leider nicht in mein Auto bekommen.
Muessen wir also warten, bis Thomas wieder hier ist und wir mit zwei Autos fahren koennen. Er mit Personenfracht und ich mit Moebeln!
Wir haben allerdings in der As Is Abteilung ein kleines Buecherregal und eine kleine Kommode fuer ‘neben’s Bett’ gefunden!

Morgen frueh spielt Josh dann sein erstes Vorbereitungsspiel fuer die Soccersaison. Bin mal gespannt wie’s so laeuft!

ABBA Mania

Yesterday we started to get the Mulch we got last weekend into the Garden.
As we haven’t got our wheelbarrow anymore, it was bl…. hard work to carry all that in two tiny buckets.

In the end Thomas kept on going, where as Merle and I had a NannaNap, to be ready for our big night out.
And then Thomas came to show us his new Buddy, who came, running up is arm as he was dropping some Mulch.

At 5pm we took off to Karyn’s, picked up the rest of the girls and went to Darling Harbour.
There we met with all the others and had a great Dinner before we finally could go to the Entertainment Centre to see Abba Mania!

Merle and Emely were soooo excited!

As soon as we got there, the lights went down and the show started.

For two and a half hours we listened, sang, clapped and danced along to Abba songs.
It was a really fun event, but for me the absolut best part was to see Merle, Emely and Lucy enjoying themselves!
After the first couple of songs, where they giggeled whenever we sang along, the stood up, jumped up and down, sang, clapped, danced, copied the girls on the stage, etc.!

None of them could stop smiling and Merle keept on thanking me for taking her and Karyn for organising it!
As soon as we got home though, she went straight to bed as it was just before midnight and she was totally done for the day!
I’m really glad, Debbie convinced me to take Merle as I didn’t want to do it in the first place, but would have felt sorry for Emely!
